Beijing-based Cocos raised $50M for 2D and 3D Gaming

A long runner Cocos Technologies is a foundation for making 2D games. The company has raised $50 million to fuel the growth of its 2D and 3D gaming.

Cocos has 1.4M developers worldwide. Last year added a new 2d engine with a new version of Cocos games tracing its roots back to Cocos2d-x. Cocos will maintain developing and improving core technology with the new funding along with investors like CCB Trust, GGV Capital, Agora and others. Cocos is promoting the inclusion of engines such as games, automobiles, education, XR, home design, Architectural engineering design and many more. Launched in 2010 the Beijing-based, Cocos has created a global-digital interactive content development platform it is a popular open-source engine, giving professional products and services. Cocos Creator 3.1 was officially released in May 2021. Cocos and Huawei’s HiSilicon cooperated in the basic facilities of the engine. In the field of online education, Cocos has launched the Cocos ICE courseware editor. Holding more than 90% of the Chinese market it has strong compatibility and can be customized. Cocos has become a partner with Baidu which has launched the Metaverse product Xi Rang. They aim at building a Metaverse world in the future.
